Privacy policy
What this site collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and how to have it removed.

1. Who operates this site
This privacy policy applies to therestfulledger.com, referred to throughout as the site. The site is operated by The Restful Ledger, referred to as we or us. Questions about this policy or about data held on you can be sent to contact@therestfulledger.com.
2. Information collected
2.1 Information you provide
The only information you actively provide is an email address, submitted through a newsletter form or through the guide release form on the assessment. Providing it is voluntary. The site can be read in full without submitting anything.
Where an address is submitted through the assessment, the resulting position on the ledger scale and the numeric score may be stored alongside it, so that correspondence can be made relevant to that position.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Standard server logs are generated by the hosting provider when a page is requested. These typically record the IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages requested, and the date and time of the request. This is standard practice for web hosting and is used for security and for diagnosing faults.
Where an analytics service is in use, it records aggregate usage such as page views, approximate location at country or region level, and the general path taken through the site. This information is used to understand which entries are read and is not used to identify individual readers.
2.3 Information stored in your browser
The assessment stores your answers and result in your own browser while you complete it. If a mailing service has not yet been connected, a submitted address may also be held temporarily in your browser storage. This information stays on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data.
3. How information is used
- To send the weekly newsletter and any guide you have requested.
- To make correspondence relevant to your position on the ledger scale.
- To operate, secure, and diagnose faults on the site.
- To understand in aggregate which material is read, so that future entries can be planned.
- To comply with a legal obligation where one applies.
Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared with third parties for their own marketing.

7. Retention
Email addresses are retained for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, the address is removed from the active list. A minimal suppression record may be kept in order to honour the unsubscribe request and avoid contacting you again. Server logs are retained by the hosting provider according to its own schedule, typically a short number of months.
